The New GSA

I think I’ll be going elsewhere Grant.

If the new GSA was my heart’s desire, I’d order one in a heartbeat.

But unfortunately BMW have missed a trick and will lose my custom.

As to what else, I dunno.. yet

just interested in someone's opinion that has gotten one yet....or have i missed the boat and they are not available yet?
A couple of mates in our local Bike club have just taken delivery of their GS's and are loving them....

My dealer said they wouldn’t be in the shop before end of September or October at the earliest

I've got a deposit on
- but really loving the new GS so will have to see what it offers above extended tank range - definitely think the current range is too low by 50/60 miles.
RE: offers on current bikes - the whole economy is struggling so everyone from the motor industry to hospitality is putting on special offers and trying to get money in their tills. That's not a reflection of the new GS in my opinion.
Re : cost - it's not what it costs that's important, but what it costs to run it for however long you intend to keep it. Providing re-sale is strong enough and depreciation isn't too bad (both questionable I accept) then the cost of ownership shouldn't be too bad.

You know what it’s like “it looks rubbish” “bet it’s crap” then you will ride one and…….££££££ FDP “ Financial Director Permitting” lol.

Spec’t a council one with luggage 20K on the interweb.

The new GSA is growing on me, each time I look at it, I think it not that bad. It ticks some of the boxes for a GSA. Let's face it even though I love my 1250 GSA, it's no oil painting itself.

I’ve paid a (refundable)deposit at Williams Manchester and we’ve agreed that spec will be agreed once I’ve seen/sat on and had a run round the block on a demo bike. Based on a (hopefully) positive outcome they’ll check for any in uk that are to spec and get it in, failing that factory order and twelve week wait. To tide me over I picked up one of the last of the current 1250GSA’s to keep me mobile. Traded my 22 year GS for a 1290R last Saturday and was so disappointed by Sunday that I went to Williams Monday and got rid. I’m big and riding position gave me sore knees and cramp in my hips but just shows the folly of buying without a test ride.

Quite a pricey weekend that…

What do not get is why place a deposit on a bike you may not commit to, just wait, have a test ride and then wait the 12 weeks? Which will be November through March so perfect timing for 2025

Valid points all. Deposit was placed the day after it was announced but the wait to see it decision was this weekend just gone.

And yes a rather expensive weekend made worse by the dragon announcing that we’re heading to the sun during September. That combined with this weekend’s extravaganza will punt August’s spend into five figure. Just hope she doesn’t realise the ktm has mysteriously morphed into a bmw or the holiday quality requirements could increase somewhat!

Sat on one today . Love it ,can’t wait to pick it up . ASA ordered in red
I admire your bravery in not only ordering a new model BMW but one with completely new, untested technology!
Did you test ride a 13 with ASA?

Yep, me too......paid deposit TE in red non ASA, rode the R1300 ASA last week, super fantastic but i'm "old school".

Told if I order now prob/may get it with their demo's, late October, early November, but decided to wait until March 25.

Yes it's a lot of money, but you know what, why not!

Just retired, wife retiring before next spring. "Miles n Smiles" time for us while we can.

TD.
