Hi Folks,as the title shows in laymans terms why should it be on my dash,
i started my bike it went through the checks,all clear nothing on the dash,
then went out for about ten minutes and the bugga came on,not flashing
just stayed on,now there's nothing wrong with the brakes,they stop A one,
Any suggestions on why this happens would be gratefully received.
Cheers Baza

I think that it may do this if it senses a difference in the speed of the front and back wheels. You could try checking abs sensor connections etc.

I am sure other will be along with better suggestions

What year - 05-07 ?
Two types of ABS fitted around that time

IABS Gen1 & IABS Gen2

If Gen1 cost to replace £1200 ish Gen2 can be home fixed dependednt on fault

Gen1 can be fixed, but i havn't hear how long they last after a fix

Gen 1 can be removed so the bike becomes non abs

If your ever looking for support or help either from the forum or online databases

Model, Model year, and month of manufacture are the most important bits of info

it takes the search pool from - Example

Model = 2 in 70000 to

Model = 1 in 35000

Year = 2 in 12000

Month = 1 in 1200

At the moment your still in the 1 in 35,000 section, thats a lot of stuff to condsider

BMW have runout and run in parts, so you could be on the cusp of a gen 1 or gen 2 part or at the the end of Gen 2

but without the year or month its a could be A or could be B

local parts guy was ranting about owners that come in and say they have a TU - as he puts it that means NOTHING in BMW parts world

as far as I know its a UK mkt Trim Level (mostly meaning they throw all the options at it to try and justify the 5k inflated pricing) - which why we all have to suffer keyless joke, and gear shift disaster poo, on all the current rubbish
