Just back from the Off Road course in Wales (via Paris, as I went to see Mum first!!). :D

Anyone who hasn't gone, go for it if you can, well worth it. Must admit I was scared shitless for most of the course, but in a good way...if that's possible!!:D

A few piccies - I always like to do one better than Oonyack!!:augie

Lots of lovely gleaming new bikes....

The beast that is the 800 and my bike for the day (I say day, as I went through 3 bikes over the course, only minor problems, like a fecked gear box...:o)

Kevin Saunders was our tutor for the day, I didn't realise 'til after that he's on tv..nice bloke, with the patience of a saint!!:thumb2

On to the hill recovery, it was torrential rain all day, so a wee bit slippy to say the least, as I was about to make my way back down the hill, after successfully doing the recovery, I came off the bike, fell on to my instructor and the bike then fell on to the both of us, a cushioned landing is highly recommended!!:thumb2 No pics of the incident..phew!!:blast

Almost at the end of the day, was knackered and soaking wet, but had the biggest smile on my face - met a great girl called Yvonne, she did a fantastic job all day....sickening really!!:thumb

A couple of days I'll always remember, looking into getting a wee off road bike, I've got the bug now!!

Well done. Good that you enjoyed it.

I did the course two years ago. Great instructor. Looked like someone off The Fast Show. Can't remember his name now.

Been thinking about going back to do it again. Shame that it is so far away. Although it did give me an excuse for a blast around Wales on the way there and back.

So, it's fair to say that you had a bit of French and Saunders...

I thank you...:D

Glad to hear you enjoyed it Tash. Did the 800 work out well? I've booked onto the Irish course in august on an 800 (If ya fancy doing it again come on over!)
Definately get a smaller bike, like a likkle 250 or somat. They are great fun for larking about on, and it saves your nice shiney new bike from getting a battering.
Will ya be doing the offroad run in Tipperary now???

You'll love the 800:thumb It handles incredibly well off road, however as was pointed out to me, the engine braking is a tad on the quick side when going down hill, but what the hell, it's a laugh!!:D I had a quick shot on the X Challenge, but was more than glad to get back to the smoothness of the 800, the gears on the X Challenge, were lets say, a wee bit clunky, which may have been more to do with my riding!! One thing though, it's a fecker to pick up, technique or no technique!! You'll have a blast though!
Would love to join you on the Irish off road event - where, when etc??!! I'll need to see how much I can save!!:blast

A wee 250 is just what I need, will probably pm you for a bit of advice:thumb

Tashx

Oh and I had to sit next to Pavey at dinner time! Johnny was a bit pished and started telling him really random facts, he even started to tell him about our next door neighbour's shed, which was a bit surreal. He seemed to like the idea of Oonyackistan and clearly was jealous of the Prince of Darkness title - Johnny's considering knighting Pavey with summit!!:oonyack

Pics are fine for me Tash :thumb2
Glad you had a good time, jealous, moi, you bet :D

Tash - just tell Johnny to sort out the pictures as I still can't see them.......

Maybe a filter in the network for dodgy outfits:rolleyes:

AndyT:cool:

Computer says 'naaaaa' and I don't know why..:tears

No bother, if there's one thing I like talking about its me wee bike! We have been going out regularly on the wee pogos. Great craic. Have done two hare and hound races so far, and plan to do all the Irish enduro races. Its a great day out. Even though you're fit for nothing at the end. We just need more women in the sport!
