Machine Cat:

Hey, thanks for the thanks. Really, helping others with similar interests is what we are all here for - it's a community where everyone contributes what they can, and we are all better for it.

My only regret is that I didn't do a better job of explaining the quite easily overlooked differences in the first place.

I agree

I agree with you completely Pan.

I wasn't aware a microdrive would work in a 2610 until I read the faq. My point is that it would seem to support that 2610 and 2620 are the basically the same hardware device. Likewise 2650 and 2660.

In Australia the SP2610 is delivered with City Navigator Australia for all of Australia loaded onto a 128MB CF card plus the CNA CD of course.

Sort of the best of both options

Bill:

I have seen the 2620, and you are correct - it is exactly the same as a 2610, except that it comes with a microdrive, and WITHOUT the CD containing CN cartography and the MapSource application.

I have not seen a 2660, so I don't know if any changes have been made to it, compared to the 2650.

Burnie

Thanks for pointing that out. That seems to be a very sensible idea, I wonder if Garmin will implement it in other regions?
