I have never had my spots n fogs working since I bought the bike... I rarely ride at night but decided (eventually) to get it sorted...

I popped in to ABW on the way to Dent and after getting the tank off they diagnosed the relays were at fault...

One was cleaned and I was the 1 spot 1150 at Dent yes...
Now from memory the relay was a Ripaults 202552

searching the web I found this...

Does a 40A Relay sound right??

Yes, although a 30 amp relay would probably be fine for most aux lights.

If in doubt, go for 40

Thanks sir - just sounded a bit high!!

I shall spend the required £2.34 plus post :)

If I appear next week with black frizzled hair and smoking - something has gone wrong with fitting :)

Any 4 pole, 12v 30 or 40 amp relay will do.....or if you have a 5 pole relay, you can use that instead and just ignore the 5th pin. (the 5th pin is for switching to a different output, so rather than a simple 'on or off' switch, the relay becomes a switchover relay)

If I was fitting HID spots, I'd go for a 40 amp one, as HIDs do take a big whack of current to boot them up (establish the initial arc) but it makes little difference as long as the relay is capable of taking more current than you need (within reason anyway)
