Ah - the Scottish Engineers properly technical measurement - - the BA Hair , :D
Ships , trains n planes were constructed with this elaststicallly precise measurement ( its a boiler suit n boots kinda thing :D)

Well I booked 4 weeks off work to ride to Moscow then down to the Crimea with some Russian friends…. Clearly not happening 😬
Next plan was strontian with my mate Buckles and My boy…. Buckles started a new job n can’t make it…. My boy is a teenager and can’t handle camping….so backed out🤬 so it’s solo all the way for me.
New plan is blast up to Tyndrum. Night there and pick up a good whisky….
Weekend drinking the old man’s whisky, the old man says there’s no chance of decent whisky from Gerard 😜😂 then over to Applecross for a night…
Wee mad road etc to the top of the west coast wild camping on the way…Scrabster… Orkney…..
Then make a plan to work my way back to sunny Doncaster.
Hoping to see you all in Strontian.

Hmmm...

I am planning spending the weekend drinking 'the OLD mans whisky', but Calmac are still pissing about with their political boats( even now, less than a day before the scheduled departure:blast). sure I'll get there one way or another and put you right about some of 'the OLD mans' delirious outbursts....

Wowser!
Good news on the ferry front! My booked crossing to Lochboisdale is going ahead, but at 1030 rather than 1615, which means leaving here at 0630, not really a problem.
The return on the 20th is also now early, leaving Lochboisdale at 0650 and going to Oban via Craignure(Mull) arriving Oban 1230, which gives a bit more time to cruise round to Strontian, hopefully arriving before the whole lot of them are lying insensible and blootered roundabout the place. Adds a bit of interest to the crossing anyway...
Is there any grub organised for Sat night?

Nothing organised Gerard. Alastair was going to organise a bit of a Bar-B-Q but he's bailed out!

Depends how many .... last time we booked a table for about eight I think it was, in the Hotel Bar. We can maybe do that again?

Can't really put any blame on Alastair for that as he's likely to be either still stuck in a hospital bed or maybe kicked out and gone home...but still suffering from scalpel wounds :comfort

The cafe take away closes at 4pm every day ??? And the hotel will only give meals if you have pre booked so we are keen for that Saturday night..and I think that they might do take away as well :nenau

January 2022 I made my mind up to go and see Chernobyl before dropping down and meeting my partner in Bulgaria...Changed my ferry and made alternative plans on February 25th :(

Your route north is good but be prepared to fight your way against the North Curse 500 boy racers and rental wankervan brigade, who are starting to intensify now, and that wee road is getting madder every year !

Looking forward to meeting you and partaking in some of the afore mentioned feesic :beerjug:

Me and Redsky would be delighted to dine in the hotel on Saturday night Mike. :thumb2

Gonna miss Alastair as I was looking forward to swapping some oil company stories.

Get well soon Alastair.

I've stayed at Strontian before with other groups and Tim ( owner & biker ) has happily laid on a BBQ & chilli @ around £10/head if he know's numbers.
So when Margaret's powers have weakened and there's a definite list of victims available for the weekend

I hope to be there on Wednesday for some 'practice' :thumb2

I'll have a word with Tim and see if we can't organise a Bar-B-Q the Saturday night maybe. If it's fine I'd rather be on the campsite than in the pub :)

Looking at the list, at best, there's only going to be about twenty so that's not going to be difficult.
Even if we only get the coals lit and you cook what you bring, but Tim has said he can get home made burgers from a local butchers.

I'll report back by by Thursday pm so watch this space folks.

:beerjug:

I'm planning on getting there, it'll just be a bit later in the year. I'll suggest date when I'm back up and running. I'll even supply the whisky.
