Just dug out the V5, registered November 97, so as it's late in the year, could (I guess), be one of the 1st with the 1998 graphics
Anyway - it's got what it's got

Could be, BMW were a bit random back then and there were always mods to specs mid year

People have had them re laced but the rims are notorious bastards to keep true due to the spoke pattern for tubeless tyres... There have been specialists about but whether they still are I dunna ken...

Agreed, even 10-15 years ago finding a wheel builder happy to work on oilhead wheels was a challenge. the majority just didn't want to know. I think Hagon could do it...??
