Allihies again.. but off to Asia soon....
for the voters, how can we vote for someone who at the end of the boom managed to get 840k from his own failing company? It is madness, in fact how can anybody with a record like that be running for president... I don't know who to vote for now....

Fair point but the whole presedential campaigh makes me smile. We are electing the equivalent of a mildly animated garden gnome that smiles at visitors & avoids controversy. Occasionally saying something that captures the mood of the day would be the icing on the cake.

The various potential gnomes are suggesting that they can sort out out the plumbing or what ever other intractable issues assail us.

The president has no power. This may not help your decision.

Their is a more crucial decision that the people must make that day; giving investigative powers to our elected representstives.

The sad fact is that I would not trust them to investigate any issues (although elected) but don't wish to see tax payers money being thrown at the legal profession via tribal urinals (AKA Tribunals).

Now there's a tough call............................

I don't get it either...

It speaks volumes about how we (collectively) think about our financial "crisis" and system.

I think it's more of a case of how do we vote tactically and keep out the ones we don't want. Then again if he's busy flower arranging in the park he can't do too much harm in the real world?

Referendums? are we just solving two problems by making two more?

I heard an article on the radio this morning. A guy pointed out that if you are undecided who to vote for, then vote for the oldest candidate, as they will more than likely cost the taxpayer less over the course of time when you factor in their pension.
