I wouldn't bother waiting until January. I bought one a couple of years ago and waited 6 weeks just to get 132. It was an absolute killer seeing it just sitting there in the showroom with the "please do not sit, vehicle sold" sign placed on the seat. I just ordered a GS and have no intention of waiting for the 161. Everyone to their own. Perhaps if it wasn't on public display you could be tempted.

It was a dilemma sitting there ordering it. There were about 4 bikes with the signs on them. In the end he just said its more than likely going to be first week in December or late November. For the sake of 3-4 weeks I said I'd wait. Now I wouldn't bother waiting for a 162. Now when it arrives and I go up to see it sitting there I might be tempted to say just register that online there and I'll drive it away!

That looks nice!! The 2016 model doesn't have blue on the seat, it's all black. I think the red now has a red seat.
In Ireland we can't get personalised plates. The best we can do is request a number so I could as for 161-D-1200 and pay for it. But any amount of people can request it and it's picked at random. The down side is you need to wait until the number comes up. So if have to wait for 1199 vehicles to be registered before I can get mine registered.

I much prefer the blue from the 2015 bikes, as it looks great in the flesh. I can't understand why BMW dropped it, as it was one of the most popular colours, and gets loads of admiring comments every time I go out on it.

Triple Black is only available in the GS and not the GSA is what the dealer told me because I did ask as it was the colour I would have went for.

The Ocean Blue 2016 model has black and grey seat
MD told me all back....not an issue really. The sides are grey and the frame etc is black. My thinking was to get the two blue panels sprayed black by the MD so the bile would be black and grey. He said around €300 to do it and would be all ready for when I collect. I'm on two minds as to wait as see how I like the blue or just collect it black. First world problems are the worst!

I have the Ocean Blue metallic and i am very happy with the colour, the photo's online and in the brochures don't do it justice.
I seen it and it's a nice colour. The new one is a matt blue. I'll wait and see what it's like before deciding to change the colour.
