My '05 GS will continue it's life with a new owner tomorrow.
One of the best running/handling/looking BM's I've ever owned.
On order is an '07GS Adv. Actually I've put the order in last November but had to wait till the '05 sold. My local Dealers can't seem to hold these bikes very long as they disappear as soon as they arrive.
This time I ordered a bare bones stock ADV.
No ABS or computer, forget the traction control,I'm very happy with the stock lighting. The factory bags make me gag...sorry if I offended anyone.
I will miss the mag style wheels tho.......
Cost wise for me to convert the '05 into a "camel back gas carrier" would probably be a wash,so why butcher a good bike. Just sell and buy one already to go.
I've already test rode one last year and the minimal height difference is no big deal. Having had two previous airhead PD/GS's with big tanks,I miss the fuel range. The added weight issue is no big deal either. I do love the added wind protection the new tank design offers. And the larger screen and wing lets do make a large improvement.
Hopefully the wait won't be too long, riding and camping season is just around the corner!!!
Bye Bye.......Ol' Red!!!!!!!!!
