We are actually going to Mid Wales today - big-trailie-recce-run for the UK AdventureRider Rally the weekend after.

as it happens I did the strata florida on my 600 a few days ago and it is possible on the gs at the moment as there isn't too much water on it, top ride along claerwen dam (easy bit) and then back through the strata florida.
highly recommended and slow speed but a testing route
