The Zumo, as a GPS why is it better?

Yes Quest is better than anything...except paper maps
Yes eight track tapes are better than anything digital...
Yes a spoon of caster oil is better than any vitamins...

And yes I am fully abreast of all that the modern world has brought to improve my life...

No of course it's not you .i.

It's old, it's basic, but as above , it does what I need it to do.

Also as above, I added a couple of Rino 520HCx units to what I use....because they add to and compliment what I need from a GPSunit.

A 'perfect' GPS unit seems to be the holy grail....as yet, it doesn't exist...the newer Garmins seem to be dumbed down and 'user friendly' for those who can't deal with thinking about what they're doing.....you can pay over a grand for the latest bling GPS yet it still won't give you all the features you'd list on a wishlist.

As I said, mine do exactly what I want them to do and until I see one that's 'better' for my needs , I'll stick with them TYVM :kissy2

i like the quest as a take off the bike stick in your pocket unit but the screen is very small
The zumo has a bigger screen but i think it needs to be bigger still :D

Doesn't matter what it is so long as you can understand it to accept and work with its limitations and still get the best out of it, understand it enough to control it to assist you and not allow it to dictate to you through your own ignorance.

But this is GS land and in GS land you buy what the ferk you want and no one expects you to put it to use as it was meant to be so why should the GPS be the exception :nenau

There's no point putting a snap-on spanner in my hands and showing me an engine that needs attention, but give it to an hexpert like St.Eptoe and he can make it sing, but he can do the same with a cheapy halfrauds job too.

The tool doesn't make the person wise, the wise person takes the tool and puts it to work for them.

Unless you're a old blind cnut and you can't see as far as your speedo or handlebars in which case you'll need Zumo or a 296c :D

So what's wrong with a Garmin 12???

I've got 2 x 12's, 2 x 12XL's, 2610, Nuvi 250, Bluetooth GPS Datalogger & separate Bluetooth GPS mouse for the netbook!! - does that make me a GPS geek?
