I can't figure out how to move the windshield on my "brand new" 2003 1150 GS. The manual says to loosen the rear screws on both sides and tip it forward or back.
Yeah right , not on this one you won't.
I had a 2001 GS before this one and not a problem. But this one has different mounts and they are mounted totally solid with no means of sliding in any direction.
There is one centre screw fastening the mount to the instrument console. Then 2 screws fastening the shield to the mount and the front screw goes all the way through to the instrument console also.

The screen is lying really low down and so is buffeting my head like crazy and the wind noise is FRICKIN' LOUD!!

I'm almost thinking now that this is not a proper GS screen, but it does have all the BMW logo etc. on it and this is how it came from the dealer last week.

Does anyone recognize this setup and can suggest how to move it.
Here's some pics to show what I'm trying to explain.
This is a side view of the right side with everything in place.

HELP!!!!!!!!

Mike's right, that's the optional adv. screen, if you bought the bike new, the salesman should've asked if you wanted the adv. screen which is bigger than standard, and also relieved you of an extra £110 for the option.

Tobinators

You need tobinators to solve that problem.

See many previous threads on the subject.

cheers

Thanks everybody

I'll be talking to the salesman first thing Monday. Not to offend any of the Adv boys but if I'd wanted an Adv screen I'd of bought an Adventure. It's not for the dealer to just decide to put one on because they had an extra lying around and probably broke my original. Then hoped I wouldn't notice the difference. AARGH!:banghead:
