Going to down do Devon next week to see some family but on my way down as going to go in to Wales and see what is there. As I have never been was looking for a tips on pleases to and road I should go and ride. I am coming down from Scotland so will be going from the top to the bottom. I plan on going to pending but that is all the now. Some tips would be nice thanks

A straight-ish forward route, plenty of others if you have the time, I'm sure you will get more advice mind

Into Wales from the M56, pick up the A49 to Whitchurch, A495 Oswestry A483 Welshpool onto Newtown, to CrossGates, A44 to Rhayadar then into the Elan Valley To Devils Bridge. From there on the B4343 to Tregaren, look for a Brown sign that Says Llyn Brianne Reservoir take that C road to the Reservoir, (you will soon pick up signs 5 to 10 miles) for Llandovery. In Llandovery head for Brecon on the A40. Sennybridge take the A4067 then straight away A4215 to Merthyr Via the A470 (when on the A470 pop and see Terry in the Burger wagon, laybye LHS, on the Z bends, a bikers haunt)
Then carry on to Merthyr and Cardiff.
Rhayadar is a nice stop over, pubs, curry houses etc Ty-Morgans(sp) is a Good B&B
Enjoy :D

thanks for the tips. the only thing is that you miss out snowdonia national park and i would like to come down throw it.

Simple really just head for Betwas-y-Coed pick up the A470 and follow it to Cardiff. On the way you may want to take the A487 at Dolgellau head for Machynlleth continue to Talybont and pick up a brown signs for Nant y Moch reservoir and the onto Devils bridge and follow previous info from there.
Lake Bala and lake Vyrnwy are worth a look. Any road from north to south is good really the A470 is okay but it's the road from north to south so can get busy with lorries etc. Lovely scenery though. Get yer maps out and take peek, if you use the search on the Welsh forum. And look for routes there will be loads. Enjoy

You could see and do some of the many sheep that Wales offers by the side of the road:D
