Want some new boots and have tried Daytona Roadstars - very comfy. Like the look of Travelstars but cant find anywhere local to try them.
Anyone here got them? What are the plusses and minuses apart from the obvious high price)?

Hi
Ive had a pair of Daytona Gortex boots for 15yrs Never leaked, comfy to walk and bike in. They are looking a bit tired now, soles worn out etc so bought a new pair.
Think it was from Infinity, got a good deal at bike show.

For me cant speak highly enough on Daytona's When new ones wear out Definately buying another pair.

Hein Gericke stock Daytona boots but they have their own exclusive models. One of them is bound to be a close match to the roadstars. There's a branch in Farnborough.

(I'm assuming your declared location in Farnham is still current)

I have a pair of Travelstar Gtx's.....

.....I've had mine for many many years (15+) and they're still going strong. :thumb2

They've never leaked, always kept my feet warm, and never been too hot. To me they're the ultimate touring boot...ultimate boot full stop to be honest.

I've recently had mine re-soled direct with Daytona...and that was purely cos the Gsa footpegs had knurled the soles up over 6 years..but it's an added bonus that this is a service they provide.

Highly recommended. :thumb2

I have two pairs of Travelstars, excellent boots, and as above, they resoled my first pair and patched a worn bit of leather so they are as good as new, and they're still my favorite pair. Very very comfortable IMO:thumb2

I've got the daytona trans open GTX and love them. They feel like comfortable old slippers and are 100% waterproof. FYI buy them direct from Germany for a big saving.

10 yo Road Star GTX here, just had them resoled and Goretex relined by Daytona in Germany, total cost £150 inc postage which is less than half the price of a new pair. If I get another 10 years out of 'em, I'll be well happy :D
