I'm new to this crew, live on Vancouver island, western Canada. I now have a 1995 Tiger tricked out for extended gravel riding (thousands of miles of gravel here) ... 21" front wheel, ally boxes, large bash plate, Corbin seat, etc.

I'm thinking of buying a 1991 R100GS as another ride for my son. Didn't find specific info here for older models. Any sites to direct me to for technical info, anecdotes, options, goodies, would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi and welcome :thumb2

Have a read of the Airhead section of this forum, certainly plenty of anecdotes and no shortage of opinion.

Thanks for the help. I also should have mentioned North America for parts & accessories info.

I also have some photo albums showing western Canada & Mexico riding if anyone is interested ...

Sounds like hell :)

Welcome to the site and thanks for sharing your trip pictures

Got My GS !

I finally signed the transfer papers on a Red 1991 R100GS. I still have to pick it up, Not been running since 2007.

35,000 km, 23,000 miles, very clean, Corbin seat plus stock, high windshield, running lights, New battery, tank bag, many spares, gaskets, filters etc., BMW panniers, oil gauge, etc. More yet to be discovered as I get into it soon. I expect it will spend a year as a Road Warrior, as the Tiger has volunteered for dirty duties.

The previous owner was a friend of mine, went to Mexico with him. He was always very particular about having reliable machinery with a few goodies. He named the bike Red Sonja, after the cartoon / movie character.

More to follow when pictures are ready.
