Excellent . Time to get a thread up to 20 pages before you leaveThanks Richard,
Definitely going but not in January. Will leave it until the weather is a bit warmer and go on the bike.
I haven't tried Kurviger before.

Cochem can wait.
Place where Wessie stayed and Wapping has routes.
Thanks pal sounds good to me.I forgot to say, the hotel has an honesty beer & wine fridge with 500ml bottles of Weissbier for €3.50 which is handy for the gap between the lunch and dinner service, although the biergarten on the riverside is open during this period and serves Flammkuchen and the usual array of wurst and burgers. https://www.am-maingarten.de/index.php
No idea where that is but assume you meant east of Frankfurt.Place where Wessie stayed and Wapping has routes.
Around here JohnNo idea where that is but assume you meant east of Frankfurt.
The area known as the Spessart
Its big with German tourists who like walking and drinking beer. Only ever been there in spring to autumn and its very wooded so probably a bit grim in the winter months
In nice weather its full of bikes, not all with engines.

as I posted in @Wapping's thread that inspired Doc's travel plans, the hotel I recommend is an hour south of the loop he posted
