Add me to the list of R1300GS owners completely happy with the bike, 12500 miles no problems at all. For me it’s a big improvement from the 1250 which was a small improvement over the 1200 which was a big improvement over the 1150. I was in a bmw dealer yesterday and they were looking on the system and there were a good few hundreds of 1300 GS/GSA in uk stocks, unsoldJust had a pm from a guy who’s dumping his 1300 to go back to a Vstrom . Bike all loaded up ready to come back to me tomorrow and I thought, you know what fuck it ive still got a really bad feeling about this bike, I spent the whole day at work today reading on the net about the problems people have had with them, so I phoned and told them I wanted to exercise my consumer right and reject the bike, they were not best impressed but could see my point,
Ordered a 2026 Africa Twin Adventure Sport tri colour with the red front, manual, having top and bottom crash bars, spot lights, big sump guard, rad guard, tank side protectors, hand guard extensions, plus other bits ive forgotten, anyway its coming to £18K its brand new with 6 year warranty, its being delivered next Thursday, my affair with the 1300GS is now officially over, shame as when it was ok it really was a cracking bike but I think as it has been said before we are still the BMW testers !! and my trust was gone
Roll on the Honda just hope they dont fuck me around with the refund !!

Good lad . You know it makes sense . I’d never buy a modern BMW as I have no local dealer support and wouldn’t risk it due to the poor reliability. Unlikely anyway as there’s only a couple of their bikes I rate but they’re over priced .
You just know the Honda won’t shut on you on day one of your two week holiday !

Salesman kept a straight face and said they may do it for £16k when I asked if there were any deals ?

Although it'll most likely be fine from now on I can see loosing confidence it that bike. Thankfully it happened right off which enabled you to reject it. Africa Twins can certainly have their issues (I've had 2) but it seems BMW and KTM can take "problematic" to a whole new level.
What panniers are you getting for the AT? Or are you?
Good look with ya Jane Fonda but it’s never gonna be a GS even if the GS does have a few niggles
