Wash the bike and realise how good it looks and what would I replace it with. And more to the point how much to change to a 1250.

not even run in? why would you want to sell???

Yours is unique and a great looker OP - I had the same bike until just under a year ago and had an XR after that - never should have made the change.

Rode the XR to collect a new 1250 today and felt right at home as soon as in the saddle, but it is better. Haven't decided why, but it really has improved and I thought the 1200 rallye was perfection.

That's not knocking the 1200 at all by the way.

Haven’t been too well lately but on the mend now. Thought a 1250 would put a smile on my face. And you can’t take it with you!!!

My brother has told me to go and test ride a 1250 and that will make my decision for me.

I’m shielding at present so will hopefully get out on one in August.

So glad you like yours and congrats on picking it up today.

Thanks - I was looking forward to it for sure, but I'm extra pleased after a short ride, then an afternoon farkling!

That said, the 2017 Rallye was all the bike I ever needed and it should still be here.

There are some giddy bargains to be had, so don't rule a swap out until you've enquired, but of course, get well before anything.

I've not found any 'giddy bargains' as I have a 2018 TB GSA with very low mileage to PX and the PX offers have been very low thereby knocking out any discounts at the 'front end' :(

well, if it will aid recovery, then go for it. But in my younger days I raced LC350's and have had a lot of fast bikes thereafter, and I'd not say the 1200 was lacking at all? I wonder how many of us in our let's say 50+ age group can actualy use the 1200 to its full potential let alone the 1250?
But as you say, you can't take it with you :)

I have then same bike but with wire wheels and I swapped rack over to GSA style with metal boxes, love the look of it and the ride is just right for me, no need to change it really but you only live once and if you can afford it, then why not.

Your 1200 is plenty fast enough for a big adventure and you’d have to be a bloody good (and illegal) rider to redline it through all of it’s gears regularly, however the way that the 1250 motor delivers it’s seamless mid-range torque with power is pretty intoxicating, and very useful if you ride two-up with luggage.
