I just assumed in this modern age, with all modern materials & their manufacture available, the new GSAWC would be lighter than outgoing model.
I since checked weights & was surprised.

Their riders are certainly getting no lighter. That's for sure.

I fear you have forgotten that in the intervening period since you last considered this pressing point, the bike has gained two radiators and a cupful of water... They ain't featherweight, that's for sure. All that power and presence came at a price, not least in the scales department.
