I can switch the PC on and click on start and open Windows Internet. Click on favorites = UKGSer it opens up and away at what I want to read and look at. But if I want to go to a link or to say ebay or my to read my emails I get Internet Explorer cannot display webpage and I have to click on a box that says "Diagnose Connection Problems" Also my ISP comes up with help to connect to the web and I press yes or check out why no connection. :confused:

Well, I am connected `cos i`ve got through to ukgser aint I !!!

Some other times I cannot open a link on here but as someone had said sorry i`m having trouble opening halfrauds link then I think well it`s not only me and it`s my security doing the job it`s supposed to do, maybe???

I`m a click on the mouse and the odd typing PC numpty. But have noticed for the last 6 months I get between pages i`m opening a about:blank flashes up down in the lefthand corner. Have I got something that my avast security and System Mechanic is missing something and not to solving a glitch ???

Sorry for the long post and i`m not sure if anyone that comes up with an answer will be able to make it simple enough for me to fix the problem. :blast

This has happened a lot recently ... but

Well, i`m now really confused. I am back and i`ve got internet but not sure how !!! I know I need to take a course on something to do with PC`s as i`m a press a button, click with the mouse and hopefully i`m connected.

Tryed as usual to just get on the internet and this morning at 10.15am same thing Internet Explorer cannot display webpage.
I`ve clicked on Start = Connect to my ISP (talktalk) gone through quite a lot of test this and that, even back and forth on some requests.

Not sure how i`ve got to this, Network Connections but i`m connected through this :- LAN - High Speed Internet Connected, Firewalled Intel(R)Pro/100 VE Network.

So, what has come up in a little box saying;

Network Connectivity has been restored for HTTP:// and HTTPS:// webpages. However windows cannot connect to the internet using FTP.

Got a very large Network Diagnostic for Windows XP to click on ... does anyone understand this language?

Goes on to say something about Firewall settings is probably causing the problem on this computer.

As I said i`m confused and if I need to make further investigations please direct me into the unknown ... :eek
I will take a look into Spybot, :bow Dickieboy

Thanks Dakarnoway
