I'm in Majorca.
I hired a Honda 750 thibgybob.
The gear shift assist pro worked better than my 18k BMW R1200GSA TB LC TE.
Hang on. It didn't have GSAP!
I swear to god it was smoother.

I once owned a Honda NC750 with the DCT dual clutch transmission, and I found it excellent, though other aspects of the bike, notably the budget suspension were not so good. If it is the latest DCT equipped model there will be a D mode and three S modes to the transmission. I would recommend using one of the S modes - D is really for economy and changes into high gears at very low speeds. This is not one of the horrible CVT type but a proper 6 six speed gearbox, just with automated operation, and is very similar to the DSG gearboxes fitted to up-market Audis, etc. A real hoot blasting off from the lights - you just give it a load of throttle and you get a perfect launch every time! Just don't try blipping the throttle while waiting at the lights - you only do that once! You can also intervene with the paddle switches whenever you like - so for example to change down for an overtake, or can put it in full manual mode which I would recommend in mountainous terrain with lots of hairpins, as the DCT obviously cannot anticipate what is coming up and can therefore change up at inopportune times.

Not hard. the GSAP is shite on my bike. Probably me but it hovers between crap & unuseable.
Occasionally I get it to work.

This bike was the very basic model.
Even without the DCT IT WAS smooth.
They got it right by accident !

Probably because it's half a car engine. Honda Civic AFAIK.

Throttle fully closed on downshifts

Throttle open and accellerating on upshifts.

Easy.

If thats not working then maybe linkage is misaligned, kill time needs adjustment or its knackered.

I did notice a bit of lateral play in the lever yesterday.
I think it's down to me. I have short feet plus I can't move my left ankle up as much as my right. Polio as a kid.
