Lunch at Glenlyon it is - Sunday, time to be confirmed.

I'll be heading up from Fife if anyone wants to join up.

George/Phil where do you guys fancy meeting up?

Is Glenlyon at Aberfeldy? :nenau
found ithttp://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/glenlyon/glenlyon/index.html
any chance of the postcode or co-ords for the tea rooms

If it is, I could meet George in Blairgowrie :thumb
as I think George is from about Angus-shire

Ok, Glenlyon It Is!!

Ok, looks like Glenlyon is the place. For those "younger" Tossers who haven't been there before, here is a link to a map showing Bridge of Balgie - where the Glenlyon Tearoom is :thumb :-

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.s...rchp=newsearch.srf&dn=786&ax=257500&ay=746500

You can either approach over from Ben Lawers/Loch Tay or from east via Fortingall - there is another road (private?) from Killin :eek - but that's maybe better after lunch
I don't know what you think Scott?? - but maybe 12:30 at the tearoom would be a good time to aim for??. I will meet up with you for the run up :thumb . Phil - either see you there or if your coming via a southerly route, you could also meet us somewhere( you'll better be carefull Phil  , your in danger of doubling your bike's mileage
As Scott says, weather looks great, so it's a good chance for a Scottish section get-together :nenau
PS.... the link on Phil's post for Undiscovered Scotland shows a picture of the Tearoom(Post Office) - so you now know what it looks like :clap

See ya Sunday, cheers......................Grizzly

Oops Phil - Just Noticed the Blairgowrie Bit!!

Hi Phil,
Blairgowrie or similar would be fine, maybe Scott could meet there also??

Cheers..................Grizzly

George,

Sounds tops mate :thumb

Looked at your map - it's not where I thought it was but I do know exactly where it is.

Where do you wanna meet up? Clarkies in Dundee? We could just jump on the A923 up to BlairG to get Phil.

Time sounds good to me too - lets just make sure that Gordon can make it before we commit.

Grizzly says

"there is another road (private?) from Killin - but that's maybe better after lunch " best access to Glen Lyon - magic all the way from Killin - or to!Try it less boring than the other two!

Boring???????????

Here ARC, I wouldn't call either of the other two roads boring :nenau - two of the best GS roads in the area?. I also really like the road up Glenlyon and over to Killin - and often use it, but it's harder to find if you don't know it :nenau - so maybe better as a route out of the Glen?? - and as Andy T mentioned, it does have a particularly slippy bit   - cowsh-t etc on the Killin side which I have personal experience of :eek

Anyway, maybe see you Sunday?? Cheers........Grizzly

Sorry, wont make it on Sunday, lads.

I'm heading up to Skye to kick someone's **** in...

:D :D

Edit: In case any Newbies or Lurkers view this. I'm only joshing cos we're all mates in here :thumb :D

Clarkies in Dundee would be a good idea, what time do you think.

I'm not that familiar with the route Phil, but if it's the single track road that I think it is, I reckon we'd need to leave Dundee by about 10:30-11.00ish to get there in time for 12:30.

I think ;)

Sounds good ! I'm up for it. If someone could give me a meeting point and at what time?, I'll be there! Leaving from B/Ferry(Dundee) I could meet up any place. :thumb

Clarkies in Dundee for 10-10.30 Sunday for the meet.
Seems like the best option. :thumb

Might even have time to watch the Moto GP before I leave on Sunday :D

Yes George, I've now done more miles on the GS than I did on 4 years wtih the Firestorm

Ok, we'll make it 10:30 at John Clarks, Dundee for me, Scotch and PhilM :thumb . Anybody else for a run??
Anyone coming from a different direction we'll meet at Glenlyon Tearoom then we can do a bit of a tour  after soup!!

Cheers....................Grizzly

Oops! edit - just spotted Mr Adventure's post - does 10:30 at Clarks suit you as well??
