Thought I would do a r1150 gs rallye as BMW forgot to do one

All right Graham , lookin good mate , can't wait to see it on the road .....

I've had a right chew on with the left cylinder as you look at the bike from the front,
Two torq bolts in the lower rocker support bar were fecked, they had been stripped, and one of the valve adjuster nut and allan screw was stripped, that was where the noise came from when I rode the bike for the first time, I don't know who done the service on the bike, the last service behind the rocker covers he must have a touch like a fairy elephant, few days and cold nights later the engine sorted, ( I hope ), all back together. Service done new end can on, side stand painted, centre stand painted, seat covers turned up, took seats to the upholster today back Friday, I had time to install the heated seat mats before hand, all the graphics are done, just waiting for the seat then I'll do the photos.

Here is a little peak

I've mounted the heated seat switch on the dash just below the speedo, there is a small space there that was suitable for the size of the switch I had, it's got two heat setting hot and very hot,,,,,I thought if I was doing the electrics I might as well install the fuse relay to run the seats, autocom, garmin, Bluetooth device, I've taken a few photos underneath the seat before I start running the fuses in,,, I'll take some more photos with the wiring done,,,, tonight.

Put fuel in the tank today and started the bike, it started very lumpy at first, it wouldn't tick over unless I had a little throtle, after a few seconds it evened out, none of the tappet nose from the cyclinders, left to warm up, I think it sounds very well, really happy with that,,,,job done,,,:)

Looking very good indeed - nice work. Personally I'd consider having the rims coated in black, I reckon that would really set it off.

If you fancy another winter project my 1150 could do with the same treatment:thumb

Looks really good and I like the alloy rims (said the owner of a 2012 Rallye:D)

Whats the plan for Russia in 2015?

That's the plan david, this is the start of the plan to travel across Russia on this bike, I know loads have done it before me, but it's been something I've wanted to do for a long time, so first thing is to get the bike, the build is just the start of the journey for June 2015.

Very Good overall effect, not too keen on the lettering on the seats but other than that (personal opinion:D) it's great to see another 11** given a new lease of life, Jolly well done that Chap:bow Cheers :beer jug:John B
