For those of us old enough to know what a threepenny bit is ...was

I would like to ask if any one has experienced a problem I keep having

It goes like this

After around 4,000 miles the front tyre on my 07 GSA is no longer round ::eek:

ITS THREEPENNY BIT shape .I allso had exactly the same on my 1100RT

I am an enthusiastic member of the big lean club with a large dose of counter steer
Any body like to comment ??

What tyres? Have you had any problems with warped brake disks? This is common and can wear the front tyre like you say. You often dont feel the pulsing brake when braking hard - it seems to be disguised by the forces. If you are an enthusiastic rider,,,,,,,

Uneven wear caused by road camber?

If I understand you correctly.
The "Thrupenny" contor of your front tyre is normally the tread wearing on the "leading" edge of the tread section presented to the road as you brake. The rear tyre wears on both edges because it drives and brakes, so you get even shape tread profile (no thrupenny bit). This effect is exaggerated with a more blocky tread pattern but is still there on all.
All normal.
I think??

tyre pressures?
general tyre wear front & rear mm/miles?
pad wear F & R?
types of road surface?
suspension settings?
rear tyre conditon?

I had similar uneven front tyre wear on a VFR once and was told it could be caise by my breaking habits - i.e using the front into corners too much. No idea if it's true though but it did fit a pattern :nenau
