Somewhere out there.
I think I have worn tb's.
Did end floats and valves yesterday but
Ticking still coming from left pot.
Put hand on air intake and could almost feel something tapping in time with the noise. Forgot about fingers on butterfly wheel to check.
Seems to be loudest when bike is warm.

Question is. Do worn tb rattle all the time or increase as they warm?
I'm not in a position to get them refurbed at the minute bike runs fine. Any long term issues or damage that may be caused by leaving them for a bit?

Apart from Steve Scrimingers anyone else down south that people have used to rebuild?

Cheers.

Give Vern a shout he'll sort them for much less than Scrimimgers:beerjug:

You'd even get tea and a dog to lick yer fingers at verns! While you're there one could even be tempted to buy a new set of panniers! :beerjug:

Did a st on my 1100 and she has never pulled stronger , even numpty like me did it , getting out the old bearing is the hardest , I used tools I had in garage and did both in 10 mins

Just be sure to remember/record where they are routed so that you can replace exactly where they were. TO be honest though if you are swinging past verns I'd be inclined to just get him to swap those as well... you can watch, drink tea, tease the dog and then you'll be quite happy to rip into it all next time.

Ahhh... i didn't bother to look it up. Okay then... well it is quite easy to do if you just look to see where you need to remove screw/bolts... but this is really easy to do if you have a clymers or something. It should tell you exactly what needs to be in order. You'll need to remove a few screws on the bars...you find out the order of the here. Yes i know you don't want to change the master cylinder but it's a great pictorial of what you need to do. Then.. take off your seat and tank... and follow the cable to the splitter box. Here you will need to remove the battery and take out the battery cage thing. From there it should be straight forward.

yes they do... just unsrew them... it will make sense when you look at it... if not , and you don't have some way to adjust the throttle bodies (manometer, harmonizer, cartune etc etc) then I'd definitely buy a clymer or similar, have a good read through, and be thorough... as long as you know what you took off and in what order... you can always put it back together in the same fashion. Its not a big job, and if you gave yourself a morning you should be able to do it no probs if it is your first time. If you get stuck just ask for help and someone should be able to assist with tips etc. I'd be suprised if there isn't a thread somewhere explaining it all anyway.

Had a play today. Definatly lh throttle body rattles. Also saw how throttle cable comes out.
Have spoken to Vern and will send them up during the winter. I have a harmoniser to resetting afterwards should be fine.
Thanks for help all.

Anyone point me in the direction of Vern and his location for possible future use of his services?
