The only way you'll be able to synch perfectly is by constantly doing it, not by reading about it.
And now I understand how, and have the kit to do it, and also realise how quick it is to do, I'll be checking regularly.

Changing the cables makes the bike fell like new!! Changed mine at 38K now at 45K best £100 spent in a long time.
