Just looking at my GSA today and thought that the electrical switch (not sure what it does) on the side of the throttle body looks like it could be easily damaged on an off-road fall. Can anyone tell me if this is a key part, that if failure were to occur that you should give up all hope of road-side repair, or is it bi-passable?

Yes, I think I do. So a bit of protection there wouldn't be a bad idea!

How many riders who go off road, I wonder - have actually knackered this part in an 'off'? Not likely really as it lies behind and back of the cylinder head.

Bit telling that Touratech don't make something... if its really so vulnerable.

I think it can get hooked by your boot buckles as you leave the location.
did this not happen to one Irish man in Maroc ?

Like this on my bike

I've never known a TPS to get smashed.

Moved by being knocked, yes.

But even with a cover fitted it doesn't stop it from being moved or knocked because it uses the same small bolts that grip the TPS to hold the protector in place :blast

And by fitting a cover your making it even bigger so more likely to get knocked or caught. :D

A case of form over function.

Is that code for 'Bling'??

I hope Wunderlich have plenty in stock! (and the bandwidth to cope) you know what this lot are like. Mention Bling and.... woooooosh!!! (the site goes down under the strain)
