While in Europe on the MCi France and Pyrenees tour I lost one of the front M6 bolts and the accompanying spacer from my H&B bars.

I emailed Peter at Moto-bins a couple of days after my return and have just had an email to say that a replacement is in the post.

Service like that unfortunately does not come along every day and deserves a mention.

I agree on their service, ordered my new panniers yesterday morning they turned up at 9am this morning :)

And they only charged £8 delivery for them.

p.s why is this in the 1200 section???

And another........

engine bar fixing update

Replacement bolt & spacer arrived in Saturday's post.

Tried to fit new bolt and found that the original had not fallen out but had sheared off. Tried to drill and easy out but the bars, cylinder head and oil pipe get in the way.

Will have to look at stipping it all down when I have more time.

At least in the mean time being it doesn't appear to be going anywhere.

It does make you wonder if the pushing and cajoling needed to fit these bars puts undue pressure on some fixings.

AAMOI I had to have a bit of a clean down before beginning the fitting, due to having to ride through a few cascades off the hills / mudslides during one particular heavy downpour in the Pyrenees, and noticed that quite a few brackets on the frame and those attached to the oil pipes, electrical fittings etc have peeling paint and are going rusty. My bike has done quite a proportion of its mileage in the wet but is still only a year old. I plan to talk to the dealer about the finish on this 'GS' motorcycle.

2 x Hella FF50 55W driving lights on with high beam and 2 x SIJ 55W spot lights on with dipped beam mounted on a “Migsel” light bar.

The SIJ's are Japanese I believe.
