Got a bloody puncture in me GSA

A screw in the side of tyre

Straight forward to sort ... NO this is a BMW

with the aid of my mini air pump and a mates Pan europe
I managed to get home

Mini pump f###ks up the can bus .Worked fine on my old 1150
and fine on the Pan

decide to remove wheel and take to tyre shop

NEED A BLOODY WHEEL REMOVAL TOOL :blast

Nowt in the BMW supplied arse of a tool kit

Nippy Norman wheel removal tool £30!!!!!!!

Decide check out said "tool kit" guess what ......................................... NOWT TO REMOVE BACK WHEEL either :eek:

So be prepared when purchasing a BMW you need ...
Seat that you can use for more than 200 miles
A screen that works
up grade lights so you can ride at night
A horn that can be heard
And now add tools to take the efin wheels off

Even got a puncture kit on the 1150:)


Calmed down a bit now:D
 
It was a nice run till the puncture wasn't it tho?

I got a run out this morning too on an R1100RT

What a cracking old bike they are!

Didn't you check your toolkit when you got the bike:eek: Surprise surprise:rolleyes: You can make a front wheel removal tool with a 22mm bolt and a couple of nuts welded to it....a couple of quid at most instead of giving NN £30.

If you think the lights are bad, did you ever have an 1150:eek:

It's like the latest cars, no tool kits or feck all so get over it or sort yourself the right bits for the job:thumb

Out of interest if you BMW emergency does this cover you for such eventualities, ie they'd pick you up if you couldn't get your bike home/to a dealer due to a puncture? I never got any policy documentation with my bike re BMW emergency :rolleyes:

No didnt check tool kit
Just assumed the basics would be in there :blast

I am not giving Nippy £30
will go down the route of 22mm bolt

I dont have a 22mm bolt or any welding gear
will have to trail around and get some one to do it :(

Yep had an 1150 lights were even crapper

I have a latest car and it has hardwear (tools) for removing a wheel in case of a puncture :augie
Its a 5 series:thumb

I now know this :thumb

I will now resolve to make my pump comply with the BMW electrikery system and adapt it to work direct from said battery :D

I will no longer refer to the pump as an accessory so as not to make the mistake of thinking it may be able to be used in the accessory socket

But at the time did'nt want to chop the end off my pump
and fix a couple of croc clips on (that I didn't happen to have with me):augie

Why would I, it worked off the Pan :thumb
