tight bastards

them sparklet bulb inflator things take up less room than an electric pump.

fully canbus compatible too :augie

Out of interest if you BMW emergency does this cover you for such eventualities, ie they'd pick you up if you couldn't get your bike home/to a dealer due to a puncture? I never got any policy documentation with my bike re BMW emergency

I got a puncture on the way home from collecting it form the dealer :augie called BMW assist, they were with me within 20 minutes, fixed the puncture in my rear tyre and i was away in 20 minutes :thumb2

It lasted another 8,000 miles til i changed the tyre.

Cool, thanks for the info :thumb2

That was bloody unlucky for you though :blast

BMW went cheap on the toolkits with the later 1200's, no plug or axle spanner and no Torx keys for the rear wheel.

When I part-ex'd my early 1200 for a later GSA I somehow forgot to put the toolkit back under the seat.:augie:augie

Worth knowing that one of them sparklet bulb inflator things gives about 7lb of pressure in your tyre, 3 would be needed to get into limp to nearest airline mode (21lb) :thumb2

Yes they do either take you to a tyre place or home if not open - I have direct experience of this service

That is worth knowing

Do you think they would do that when travelling abroad

Italy Germany etc later this year:JB

Go into your local car spares shop - laser sell a 19x24x22 multi removal bit. 22mm fits in the wheel spindle, the 19mm is for the socket/spanner. Size is no bigger than your thumb. - and you have a 24mm spare - cost me £3.

+1:nod

The power of the internet or the power to use ones noggin and make a spanner to compensate for the spanners or lack of spanners at BM...breathe

A correct size tool for removing the front wheel is £3.95 plus shipping off Ebay. I have an old plug spanner that fits nicely.

I've added one of those "one male, one female" molded plug pigtails to my 06 GS battery

and that of a couple of my wife's bikes. It allows me to use a generic battery smart trickle charger with any of the bikes and to use my cheapo but reliable air pump with any of them... and by bypassing the CANbus controlled accessory plug, I don't have to worry about compatibility. path of least resistance, really.
