Timberland Church.

The sun was streaming through the stained glass window and there were a few plaques up relating to the family members buried here.
The lady with the key advised me that once the work is finished it will be possible to go back and visit the crypt where the folks are buried.

It's in a lovely setting, only seconds from the very busy A15, a road I've ridden and driven up countless times and had no idea what was tucked away just a few hundreds yard off the beaten track.

Torksey Caravans as the name suggests is near Torksey and even nearer Torksey Lock.
As above I've ridden past this for decades but never been so decided to have a little look today.
There's a free car park and a café that's open Wednesday to Sunday inclusive 1000 - 1600 hrs.. I didn't try the café so can't comment on it's food but it's a nice setting.
I didn't hang about as today's lock keeper was a miserable fker with zero charm.

At last, Torksey Caravans.
I know nothing of these things; we used to caravan as kids but that was decades ago and things have obviously moved on a lot over the years.
Sarah's always railed against the idea but now we're both retired she'd like to see more of her country and the price of accommodation is getting eye wateringly expensive and she won't camp. I thought about looking for something around the £5k mark but she's turned her nose up at those as they're all 'too caravaney'. I don't want to put her off before we start but I don't want to spend £30k.
There were a few there around the £10k -£13k mark but this one caught my eye and based on photos it didn't get the instant thumbs down from H.R.H..

And so to home for a nice walk to help shed some of those excess pounds.

Though this (bloody expensive* but very nice) pit stop at The Old Filling Station, Navenby didn't help.

* It cost more than this morning's fry up and large pot of tea combined).

Bill, if you fancy another wild goose run, could you do a photoshoot of Temple Bruer and Preceptory Tower a few miles to the south west of Timberland for us?
It’s a place I’ve been intending to visit for a few years out of pure curiosity but never gotten round to it. 👍
Apologies, I've not forgotten about this Joe. I hadn't intended going anywhere near any churches today but my interest got piqued as I made my way to the caravan place.
I'm away for a couple of weeks but will head to Temple Bruer when I get back, weather permitting.
