Some 4 months or so ago, I set up a poll for your tyre choices, I ended up with Conti Trail Attack 2 and now (in about 1000 miles) I am due for a new set. Bike by that time would cover 6300 miles from new and so would the tyres. Good levels of grip from these but did not last anything like Metz Tourance Next did on my last GS (around 10000). Mind you Conties have covered 2000 miles recently two up and full luggage around France. That alone has perhaps robbed me of a 1500-2000 miles worth of life.

Now, I recall great reviews and rider opinions on Avon Trailriders. Allot of you said great things about them and I am wondering what sort of mileage did you get out of them?

All the best

Around 3000 miles and two track days.

I found handling weird until I got right tyre pressures. I think PR4's have edge in heavy rain and just in the dry but slightly worse in damp conditions.

You'll get two front to one rear wear wise.

I have done around 4000 on my current Roadtecs including a trackday. Still lots of life left and very grippy. I only got 5000 from my A40s and the PR4s just got a puncture before they were anything like worn but needed replacing.

There is a cashback offer on them, have a look on their website. About 30 quid I think

RP4 Trail on front - RP4 GT on Rear works brilliantly, loads of grip wet or dry and very quiet compared to the Bridgestones

I've got Pirelli Scorpions on the 1290, and they are bloody brilliant. I'm sure I read here that they do GS sizes.

Well Metz and Pirelli are same company really. So it is bound to be good and available in GS sizes too.

I've just done 6000 on Tourance Next, rear, and they should be good for another 4000.

Tyreleader.co.uk will likely to beat that price. But I've had good experience with both companies.

I am waiting for call back from a local tyre fitting shop with their prices. One thing for sure is that if shop will supply tyres, fitting will be £40 including balancing or £50 if I supply my own tyres.

I find tyre leader less speedy and orders often arrive in more than one delivery.

Tyreleader are 10p cheaper!
Just paid yesterday, £50.00 ride in ride out, with my tyres

Roadsmart 3 performed superb on my GS. Felt better than Pilot road 4s and no punctures, I had two in a very short time on the rear Michelins. Kinda put me off them.

What ! Are you serious ? I use these tyres regularly but after 4500 miles they're done. I ride and have fun. What do you do if you expect 10,000 miles ? Start riding man.
