No, although his father was responsible for it finding its way into the club's possession.
Well, who was it then?

Oh right, would never’ve guessed!

Very strange feeling holding that thinking that Hitler had once had it in his hands.

Why would you want the road presence of a GSA ?Anyway, still don’t get the comparison with a Yamaha MT 09 and a GSA 1250 (or 1200) - they’re completely different bikes?! There’s few bikes that have the road presence of a GSA!
New Goldwing was a hoot though, but maybe the missing link between bike and car?! Opinions and assholes - we all have them

And now you’re riding a bike from Berlin

It’s all part of the blinkered doctrination .
Same reason as the GSA massive ride around with three ally boxes attached and 50000 lumens of lights burning out incoming retinas , just to pop to the shops.
It’s all part of the ‘road presence and be seen’ bollox as they head off to Loomies or some other shite bike cafe to meet their identikit mate on his similar wankpanzer.
BMW did a good job marketing the British brain dead .
You don’t see it so much in Europe unless you run in to a conga of brits all relying on one sat nav in search of #bikerfriendly€50rooms and steak avec FRITZ !!!
It’s like an annual awakening as the sun pops over the hill and the steeds get un-SORNed.
David Attenborough could do the commentary![]()

Good, you’re beginning to find a cure for the addiction to the tractor.PS. I ride my missus Vespa 300 to the shops cause it’s a hoot and carries more stuff than GSA. Like all bikes, I’d recommend you ride one of those too before condemning

This might be the case for some, but not me. I bought my first 1150 cause I was smitten after first 3 hour test ride. Firstly, it fits my 34” inside leg better than most jap bikes and it’s like riding a magic carpet over the bumpy roads. The high seat height improves visibility for overtaking caravans and motorhomes. It also works the same for all the wanks that read MCN and tell them to flock to Scotland’s best roads with their shiny leathers and 200hp bikes they can’t ride………and subsequently our blue lights have to scrape them off the road……….and then install variable speed cameras on our favourite roads!!
Finally, the front end doesn’t dive when you apply the brake mid corner - thus elevating many average riders speed skills (me included).
My best friend is from Crieff and knows Ewan McC. Said he was cock at school and unlikely changed much now………so I definitely didn’t buy for this reason (in fact I bought my black/ yellow 1150 GSA a few years before the show)
Anyway Arsehole, stay the fuck in Jersey or wherever else you’re from and avoid some good Glasgow hospitality

On a serious note, I took an ADV350 on a 2500 mile trip through France, returned via Italy etc.
Had just as much fun as on a big bike. Just did it a little bit slower.
In fact it was better in many ways. Lighter, less tech on it, way more comfortable than any GS I’ve owned . Used less fuel.
Everything went into a top box or under the seat, no need for panniers.
Also, as I traveled around, many folk started conversations with me about touring on such a small machine, so I also enjoyed this interaction with people I’d never met.
I did 5900 miles in less than a year on it( on top of the mileage I did on the wing).
