How can you get scammed if he is paying cash?

Take the bloke to the bank with the cash, when it is counted, verified and paid into your account give him the keys and the paper work

Unfortunately, bank tellers don't verifiy notes as genuine (according to the bank, that is). On a large cash deposit it will be earmarked as to what account it was supposed to go in, and the very large, very expensive De La Rue processing machine at the local cash centre will decide if it's real. If it's not, the money is debited from your balance and you still get screwed.

Well wouldn't you just ask that the teller does verify every note?

Feck all. It's down to trust. Direct transfers can be fraudulent, and you lose the dose. Bank cheques and notes can be forged. They could turn up and hit you over the head and just take the bloody thing.

But so could any Englishman!!

As I said elsewhere, if you're not happy, walk away. Personally, I'd be happy enough to play it by ear, but that's me.

Used bank route when selling my Duke and note checked with one of those pens, Seller was fine with it, he arrived we drove to bank, paid cash in gave him keys off he went.
Used the bay to, could try exh and mart that's cheaper.

Actually, just thought of an exception. There's a thing called a TCR (Teller Cash Recycler). If your bank clerks have a machine full of money instead of a drawer, you're potentially sorted

A very good point sir, and one that had kinda escaped me while I was wrapped up in forgeries rather than the person handing them over
