Thought so.:thumb

I might get the heat shield powdercoated, along with some other bits from both bikes.

The titanium ones are a bit Harley for me!:P Sorry Steve!:D

I like the look of this Tank Design, what did you use to get that effect please?
Cheers Jonno

Performance

How do you find the performance of the motorcycle after fitting the Akra headers?
Any change in the torque/bhp delivery? I would be interested in your "seat of the pants" feel, as opposed to the curves advertised in the sales brochures.
They do look cool though!

They make quite a difference, freeing the bike up, and getting rid of some of the flat spots. Some say that you need a remap to sort the fuelling afterwards, but it seems fine to me.

When I put the headers on my bike it improved things just like Nuttys, well worth it.
I would recommend the remap as well as these bikes run very lean from new and putting a system doesn't help.
When I helped change the headers on my friends 20,000ml bike the exhaust ports, valve stems and headers were white, I don't mean light grey, I mean really white, very lean.
Nutty, my friend was like you, after the new headers he said he couldn't see the point in a Hilltop trip it as runs fine. After I talked him into the remap he is more than happy with having spent his money.
Nutty, you have already done most of the work, finish it , believe me it is the icing on the cake.

I suppose I should really, as I've come this far!:D

your the man nutty to sort a deal with geoff, you, me, dingdong and im sure a few others:D

How soon do you want to go, as I'm thinking of this weekend, if he has space? And it's not raining!:P

I think steve is looking at end of April or first wk in May ! Ideal for me, I'm awaiting Reg transfer to come back, so could be either reg no's at the mo as dvla's new system already fooked it up once .

Alternative I'll stick the bike on my trailer if needs be, I'm seeing Geoff nxt week, so if we get some numbers and preferable date I can haggle a deal.

Keep us posted then Dave.:thumb I'd be up for this weekend, as I hate planning stuff too far in advance, but will go with the flow if he's busy.

I'm still not completely convinced though, but am going to get it done just to see what all the fuss is about!:P

Every time I read about the issues people had before the remap, I really don't get, as my bike feels fine. Flat spots have disappeared since fitting Akra headers. It's a slouch compared to the S1000R, but that's to be expected!:D I'm sure that the EU regs don't do the bikes performance any favours, but don't get that the manufacturers would restrict their bikes so much, that an independent tuner can make a mockery of them.

I'm happy to spend the money, but don't want to come away underwhelmed, jeopardising my warranty and insurance (nobody has confirmed whether they have notified their insurance company of the remap, despite several questions asking the question :blast) in the meantime.:rob

You boys better speak to Geoff ASAP. while we were there he took call during which we heard him say that for a weekend booking you are now looking at June, maybe he was putting someone off, who knows. We went on a weekday so no probs.
All the questions about can it be seen by BMW etc, ask Geoff, he is very open then you can make your mind up after hearing it all first hand.

cheers for that CPJS i would like to go mid week if that fits in with the rest, just waiting for the headers to arrive and ill book but i suppose i could book now for say last week in april??
