Anyone else tried to keep up with Vern on his 1100 with badly worn TKC`s?
That will tell you all you need to know about how good they are when you are confident in the tyre![]()
Not ridden with Vern. But I've heard this about him before. I will say though the TKC's are much better and more managable when well worn in than when new.
I 'm on my second rear this year ....
Trouble is I'm only getting around 3000-3200 miles from a rear ! Is this normal ?![]()
I get exceptional milage from my tyres because I'm following trainees allday.
Sid Horman told my once he only gets 2-3000mls from a rear.
I also keep a close eye on my tyres. The tread can look like it's wareing very quickly, but if you look closely you'll notice that the parts of the tread that look like they're worn out are not yet down to the 1mm and take a supprisingly long time to actualy become illeagle. This is hidden slighly because the rest of the tread is very much deeper then that of conventional tyres.
