Hi All,

Following on from my K60 Scout thread, I was interested to get some real world feedback on mileage expectation for rear TKC80.

Any one clocked their mileage over 3 or 4 pairs over varied use ?

Ie :- commuting, touring, gravel etc and what is the average mileage expectation on an

1150 GSA ? :nenau

Cheers

No, but the general consensus on other threads is anything between 1500 miles and 3,000 miles IIRC. Somebody did once claim that they grip well enough to get the pegs down in the wet. Not something I'd want to try.:D

What relevance would someone else's mileage have to you? The bonus of wearing tyres out quickly is enjoying doing it.

Simply interested to understand what mileage people are actually achieving in everyday general use !

Other than ask the fellow riders on here, how do you suggest I get this info quickly ?

Depends how brave/daft you are :D

I've had around 7k+ miles a couple of times

Yeah, but you ride like a girl .....

Got to say that while the K60s are great tyres for the rough, I wasn't too impressed with the lifetime of the rear which was pretty much useless after 6K of tarmac.

The front on the other hand, is still looking good at 10K :thumb2

Now running TKC70 on the rear and scout on front, has been a pretty versatile combo for the last 4K on all sorts of surfaces, though will think about changing front after next trip

EDIT: thought this was the K60 thread :blast

Is there going to be a thread on every tyre option? :D

Yeah right, riding around Kent is riding like a girl......

Well, I can't ride like Billybird Manning. She is far too quick for me.

Getting long miles out of tyres is my aim too - it means you have seen over the hedges when you ride, not just a ribbon of tarmac.

If you ride like a hooligan on the road you're looking at sub 1K per rear and a little more for the front. Grip very well on easy offroad and surprisingly good/addictive on the road in the dry but not great in the wet.

Unless you're looking at lots of offroad I'd avoid but they do look look super cool.:rolleyes::thumb
