Just an quick un, does anyone else running tkcs suffer incredible arm pain from the minute vibrations on a long run or is it just me?

Good god i was almost crying in pain! and couldnt move my arms :eek

Or is this pherhaps something i should go and see the doc about?

Wheels are all balanced. Cruising at around 60 mph in the traffic at the A46 for an hour or so.

Now you know why tyre manufacturers provide street biased tyres and off road biased tyres . :augie

lol. I think i need a spare set of wheels then!

Ive never had anything like it before! It felt like my whole arm was numb and i couldnt control it properly..then i couldnt concentrate and couldnt remember where i was going too lol.... vibration and me doesnt seem to go too well together! lol

Now you know why more than a few riders on this site have a spare set of wheels. and do a swap when they go looking for the 'bike on its side' or 'immersed in a brook' photo opportunity.

If it's that painful then I'd suggest you need to see the doc.

After riding all the way through Portugal offroad on my rallye bike with MT21s fitted (unbalanced), I was faced with a slog on tarmac back up through Spain......
.....my front wheel had a big flat spot which literally caused my teeth to vibrate but there was no pain:D

so whatever you do, don't get using one of those 'rabbits':augie

Damn... and i was just about to settle in for a long sesh....;)

Next time i go to the docs ill mention it... i feel a bit silly wasting his time otherwise.

Cheers for the advice though guys :)

Have you by any chance got pins and needles in your finger tips as well?
I got that, along with said sore arms and a dead hand after prolonged biking for a few weeks. Doc identified it as carpal tunnel syndrome. I know at least two other bikers who have it.

Needs looked at if thats the case.

Stangely that is kind of what i had lol. Stop making me worry now damnit! :blast

Nah ill be fine...:augie

Just wondering if i bunged some extra weights in the handlebars if that would help. :nenau

Ill definetely get a set of road rubber as well though. To be on the safe side.

is it THAT bad? During my Albania trip i was using Heidenau K60, and i felt small vibra on 70-90 km/h but nothing, i was feeling bad about...

Have constantly had TKCs fitted for the last two years, no problems.

Do you relax your grip when holding the bars & keep your elbows slightly bent when riding?

Does it happen with road tyres on as well? Or just the TKCs? It could be the riding position - try shifting the bars or fitting bar risers. Or even a different screen? I used to get a sharp pain between the shoulder blades regardless of tyres, but bar risers have cured that meaning that 700mile days are fine on either road tyres or TKCs.

its been getting progessively more and more painful as im getting older on all bikes, and typing on the computer. I think the vibrations of the tkcs just compounded it. Gs is the most comfortable riding position ive ever had :P so im not too concerned about that and bars have already been adjusted to perfect positions along with levers etc so its all set up for me. I wont fit bar risers as i think the bars are tall enough already. Screen - have a tall screen on at the mo but going back to the standard one as i prefer the looks.

Havent got a bad word against the tkcs to be honest, they are what they are. Knobblies... wasnt expecting immense grip or smoothness. And the vibration is only present on them at low speeds i find.

Ill keep playing with it. But will get a set of trail attacks soon anyway as i want to get back to leaving my mate on the twisties, in the rain on the tkcs im a bit.. apprehensive haha :P

I've had nerve re-location in both elbows, carpal tunnel in one wrist and now have tennis elbow in right elbow, bloody medical phenominon me. I do get big pain in my right arm/hand and just move my hand about to reduce it.

anyone fancy a scar competition ??

Thats got to be a "show us yours" thing!

Ive got three scars on my left hand where i managed to snap several tendons on a gsxr ..without crashing.. just by pulling the clutch in! lol... They snapped with such a bang that i thought i had damaged the engine.. couldnt feel any pain.. just could move parts of my hand lol

Listen up....stop fukking about and go to your Doctor NOW. :blast

Some of these conditions will get better, others just worse and worse and can be permanent- your Dr will take it seriously and may well be able to help.....'feeling a little silly'?? You'll feel bloody stupid if you don't go and you end up with no feeling in your hands and a permanent condition!!! :blast

Sorry, but it needs saying......so phone the quack's now and get it sorted!! :rob

Men
