To Vent or not to Vent...

Just putting my GS together after having Denz0 rebuild my front shock...
I noticed that the coolant header tank does not have a breather pipe installed, and hence could dump coolant into the area of the front shock, and the top of the motor





Looking online ( https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/overflow-hose-missing-from-coolant-tank.950401/ ) I see that many don't have a waste pipe installed (but I also see a claim that some variants of the watercooled boxer engine do have vent pipes?

Is it worth popping one on? Any views/advice?

If you’ve got a length of suitable tubing you can route cleanly it can’t hurt

Just don't route it so any output doesn't go over your rear tyre as I'm guessing the coolant with antifreeze in it will be a bit on the slippy side?

When the 1600 blows its coolant, it goes everywhere.
