Hi guys, Johnny Boxer very kindly identified a screen on an oilhead recently - it was to help a guy to fit a `tobinator`

Seemingly the tobinator still doesn`t fit and he is asking for my help. The fella isn`t a fellow tosser nor do I know him but he`s a biker and on a beemer to boot so I am predisposed to help if I can. he bought the said `tobinator` from Nippy Norman who is also at a loss and contacted me to see if I could help.

Sadly my oilhead and tobinator level of intelligence is zilch so I was wondering if anyone could figure out what is going on here. here is his email.........

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Mark.

Thanks for the tobinators, unfortunately my bike seems to be different to the diagrams you have provided, I have included 3 pictures of the key concerns why they will not fit.
The windshield spacer between screen and instrument cluster seems a lot wider on mine than the picture,
Also the hangar does not clear the curvature of the screen,as it does in your diagram.
Please can you give me any help on this matter.
Many thanks Leon....

Looks like Tobinators from a standard GS which won't fit the Adv because of the spacers. You need adv ones.

Ah I think I have it..... as per picture 3 he's trying to fit it on the back of the bike :Aidan

Seriously though has he laid out the parts and checked them?

From memory there should be a plate top and bottom with the arms linking them

Tobinator

Oh, oh yes I know why it won't fit.
Ask him to move the screen forwards slightly, as it is too close to the rear wheel,

Sorry couldn't help it, just got home from work.

Bingo

I said in my pm Mark, that Tim would know
The fella has bought 1150 GS Tobinators, which is the bike he's got
However he failed to grasp that someone has retro fitted the Adv screen & blocks to it
As Tim has pointed out there are 2 types of 1150 Tobinators
Cheers Tim, you have already solved it :)

Sorry Mark,
It is something I would say to my best mate or brother, meaning I consider you all my best mates.

Paul

Paul, seriously, people sometimes do read things incorrectly even on this great forum but be most certainly assured that when you have more years behind you than you have in front then anything and everything is always taken in the best light possible so please don`t think you would ever cause any `raising of eyebrows` with me.

Indeed, I don`t know you but you always remain welcome and I`m always here to help you - I do quite a bit of that.

And anyway - I found it very very funny and it brought a smile to my fissog on this very wet Monday so well done - it was very funny.
