This production is on tour again and is a "must see", especially for those who haven't caught it before. It tells the story of Ireland's greatest explorer who accompanied Ernest Shackleton on his various adventures to Antarctica. The venues include Riverside Theatre, Coleraine on 7 November, Old Courthouse, Newry on 12 November and Lyric Theatre, Belfast on 13 November.

A fantastic night's entertainment.:beerjug:

Thanks Liam, as you say this is a must see show. I'll have to see about tickets for the Newry date.

Edit.
The Old Courthouse is in Antrim and not Newry Liam. :blast

Booked the flight and an airbnb only to find the feckin' show is sold out both nights! Ah well. A couple of nights in Belfast aint so bad! On the waiting list so here's hoping ..

And don't forget there is a Shackleton exhibition in the ferry port in Dun Laoighre, I spent a few hours there a month or so ago. Brilliant too.

Me and the missus will be in Belfast the two nights of the show. If anyone becomes aware of any tickets becoming available, get in touch please. The theatre has no returns as yet.

Tom Crean: Antartic Explorer
Theatre - Wednesday 18th November | 8:30pm | Tickets: €16/€14 Conc

Tom Crean, the intrepid Antarctic explorer and one of Ireland’s unsung heroes, is brought to life in this dramatic and humorous solo performance by Aidan Dooley. Hear the riveting true stories of Crean’s Antarctic explorations as one of the few men to serve with both Scott and Shackleton and survive the three famous expeditions: Discovery, (1901 – 1904); Terra Nova (1910 – 1913); and Endurance (1914 - 1916). Crean’s story is a testament of human fortitude against all the elements of the Antarctic. This multi-award winning show has now played critically acclaimed sell-out performances throughout Ireland, USA, Australia, Europe and the UK.

Droichead Arts Centre is delighted to welcome back this masterpiece of storytelling, so if you didn't catch it last time round, do not miss it this time!

“a remarkable and uplifting piece of theatre, gives everything and asks nothing.” Emer O’Kelly, Sunday Independent Dublin

Well, that was a fantastic night. Yer man did Crean proud and was generous to Scott and Shackleton too. Highly recommended.
