It’s not unusual,to get a box of rusty parts to rebuild,
It’s not unusual,to get a derelict bike to rebuild.
What is very unusual is to get the bulk of of the bike, already prepped and restored.
My starting point as it was a two man job to get the motor slotted in
The frame, engine, box and bevel were from an ST.
The rest of the parts have been painstakingly sourced over many years.
So it’s unusual for me to be opening so many oem bags and boxes.
The owner has sourced all of the bolts etc and they are all placed into their respective places.
It’s like an air fix kit.
Final builds are generally the same,
Bike gets stripped,
List of parts,
Metalwork goes for powder or paint.
Bodywork goes off.etc in the mean time we rebuild engine ,box ,bevel ,carbs, forks etc..
Only real difference here is 75% of the work is “ hopefully “ done.
I’m pretty much stuck now til we sort parts that I don’t have,
A few bits have gone for powder coat,
But there’s a couple of parts need to arrive before I fit the exhaust and air box .
