Just had mine returned from tomtom....rider still has "drilled" contacts, and the replacement shoe....*rse...exactly the same, exatly the same amount of movement, therefore, exactly the same problem will occur...i have spoke with them...and emailed them...my response to them was maybe a little too much, but i have been trying to get them to acknowledge there is a problem for months now, and yet again, i have come up against a brick wall...
I'm sure someone will say i was a little too harsh, but here was my reply...
I have just received my rider back from repair...apologies to Dermot who i spoke with, but having paid over £550 for this damned thing, i am seriously not happy with the support i am getting.
Read my previous emails...i asked for the rider to be included on the returns form as the contacts had holes in them, and it has come back from you with the same holes in them...which bit of "I need the contacts repairing on the Rider itself" didn't you get!!
Read this...all of you

so that the next time i speak to someone about this, i don't get told that you have never heard of this problem before.
Not only that, you have sent me a replacement "shoe"...IT'S STILL AS CRAP AS THE LAST ONE. The rider still moves about in the shoe as much as it ever did...so, the problem, with the already "drilled" contacts will just get worse...
What i want to do is use the damned thing for a week till the contacts are worn, send it back...get a replacement, use it for a week, send it back...can you see where i'm going with this one...the shoe is absolutely rubbish...there are posts on the internet saying that tomtom is talking with other companies in an attempt to manufacture a better securing arrangement...if this is the case, STOP patronising me by saying "that this is very rare indeed", and just be men about it, put your hands up and admit that the shoe is not fit for purpose...why should we have to pay £70 for someone elses product to fix yours...(which is what i have done, as i dont want to be bothered with you telling me theres nothing wrong with it), why are we having to botch things to get the rider to stay still in the shoe...why arnt you guys addressing the problem, or at the very least, agreeing that there is one and youre working on it. You said, and i quote "Our repair and service engineers are highly skilled individuals, fully trained to analyse and take the appropriate action for all TomTom products sent to them"...so how the hell has your highly skilled service engineers decided that holes in the contacts are not worthy of repair.
Guys, just refund me my money and i'll be on my merry way. This unit, as it stands is not fit for a motorbike...those that dont have a problem, i envy you, but those who do...well it appears that its tough, as tomtom dont give a damn about its cutomers.
I want a full refund. Someone contact me soonest to discuss this as i have not been able to use the rider for half the time i have owned it. Forget about repair, you had your chance and you have sent me back the same unmodified, unfit for purpose shoe.
