Has anybody used one of these yet. I have just returned from a trip thro France and Spain on a 1200gs with a mitac mio pda In a small pelbox and it worked fine appart for when in the sunshine it was a little difficult to see.
So I fancy one of these Rider setups which are now for sale from China
for about £90+ £35 p and p on ebay.All I'm asking is what's the catch?

RUN AWAY - FAST!

It stinks to high heaven - assuming you are talking about eBay item # 5824243051

1) He has bought 12 items in the past month at an average price of £1.50 from sellers - half of whom are no longer registered on eBay.

2) Look at his feedback - he is the buyer yet the feedback says he is a great seller. If that isn't intended to mislead I don't know what is.

3) He has never sold anything, but is now selling 5 different satnav systems.

4) Oh, and he only takes payment by personal cheque or money order.

5) His items are on one-day auctions.

I may be doing the guy a dis-service but he seems like a crook. Stay well clear.

yep, i agree with C.M, D.G, this is a scam, feedback on items that dont reveal anything, with simmilar names and users removed from e-bay, these are not even good quality scammers , e-bay should be better at spotting these and removing

Many thanks guys. Rule of thumb with these things seems to be 'If a deal is too good to be true ,.......then it's to good to be true'

Not released in UK yet, but Pondboy got to play with a Beta version for a while and posted a report on this thread

And if any of you wanted proof that this is a complete scam, just search for TomTom Rider on eBay now. Three vendors, all with the same suspicious profile, all offering other GPS units at silly prices.

eBay clearly have a problem.

My advice to anyone is don't buy anything from an eBay auction with a payment method other than PayPal. If you do you are taking a huge risk. There are many legitimate vendors in Hong Kong who take PayPal payment and who have huge amounts of positive feedback. Don't let these Chinese scammers put you off dealing abroad.
