Can anyone tell me how to do this please?

I've just been sent some files by email for a trip to the Aosta Valley in Italy on Sunday and I'm desperately trying to convert them to use on my Zumo 660.

Most grateful for any help chaps.

Tom Tom route

You need the free download program Tyre - enter Tyre in Google and download it.

The Tom Tom files should be POI files and then convert them to Garmin.gpx files.

You may be able to open the routes you have on Google Earth. You can do this from Tyre and Mapsource.

In future if changing Garmin to Tom Tom save Garmin route in .gpx format and convert to Tom Tom POI format.

Hope this helps.

My preference over Tyre is ITN Converter, will even run off a memory stick for use when you're touring. The latest version also has the option to use viaMichelin mapping with those green lines that define great biking roads (actually scenic routes but it translates into the same thing).

Thanks chaps.

Bmmike08 - I already have Tyre loaded & have managed to open my emailed files from there but cannot see how I can convert them. I know that if I create routes in Tyre & wish to send them via email there is the option of converting them to GPX files but I'm at a loss as how to do it within my own PC.

Bumpkin - I'll be having a look at ITN tomorrow as I've always enjoyed using Michelin maps and website for exactly the reason you mention, thanks for the tip.

Meanwhile I think I'll end up recreating the TomTom files in Mapsource by looking at the mapped routes in Tyre (Google Maps...). Could be a long night ahead...!

Drop 'em in an email to red viffer at bt internet dot com, I can convert them in a matter of minutes and email them back to you. That's unless there's 20+ of 'em.
