Potted History
Aye well done
Give us a history for the last 100,000 miles then......any major failures/replacements to the bike?
Ok
The bike has covered the majority of it's miles on the daily grind, it was my only means of transport until I acquired another bike. However due to the fact that my other half does not have a licence, it still gets lumbered for leisure work, day trips and continental jaunts. It shops well as swell.
Bought for purely practical reasons as have been a sports bike fan for urrm a long time, still am a closet one, however the GS just gets on with it, but then you all know that anyway!
Have replaced the usual consumables, including a clutch slave cylinder, hydraulic clutch line (watch that corrosion on the banjo), fork seals, crown wheel bearing, calliper seals/pistons and rear shock with a good old Hagon.
Been a trusty work horse until last winter when unluckily the fuel regulator chucked it's hand in, got trailered home, new regulator and some second hand injectors cured that. Couple of weeks later a mistake made by yours truly on reassembly after the clutch replacement surfaced, I replaced a 20mm fastner in the air box with a 25mm stainless item

. Unbeknown to me it nicked part of the sub loom and confused the ECU, trailered home. The latter incident kept the bike off the road for weeks until RGM found the fault.
Keep looking at the 1200 ADV but just can't bring myself to part with it, been part of the family for too long and for someone who was never really a BMW person it has converted me and I will always have one.
Hope everyone enjoys theirs whatever model you have got as much as I have mine, the best seven and a bit grand I have ever spent on a bike.
Cheers
Simon
