Johnnie, I am 5'6" and ride the standard GS with the normal seat and just done 1000 miles in the Highlands of Scotland in 4 days. If I was your height I would have an adventurer, Ricky

Jonnie,

I'm 5'7" and 27" inner and 196 lbs. I've no problem with the 1200gs in the lower position. I had no problem with the adventure (low seat) and no problem with the 1150gs in the low position.

If you're coming from a lower bike to a gs you'll find it the gs very high until you get used to it, but you will get used to it. When I got my F650 GS Dakar I bought a low seat (from the standard gs) and lower suspension arms, two months later I took them off and I now ride it standard.

Honestly you'll get used to it.

Matron, does your 1100 sit at the same angle as a std 1100 when on the side stand? only i have fitted a 10mm foot to the bottom of mine and now when it's fully loaded it's much easier to hoist upright when at the pumps etc.
I'm one of the tall lanky ones you met at the BMF.

:beerjug: Listen matey, I'm 5,9 and have an inside leg of 28, but that's not important right now. The GS set up is not a problem for us PORGS! (Persons of Restricted Growth) The balance of the GS wll astound you and the more you ride th more confident you become. Believe me size is not a problem
