Took my 1250GSA in for a service today

March 2022 GSA showing 16.5k miles

The service schedule is out of sync as I had to have the 6k service early due to an upcoming long European tour in 2022,


Because of all the reported shaft issues I decided to bite the bullet and ask them to grease the shaft splines.



When my bike was ready I was informed that when they checked the shaft it was out of tolerance and they had replaced it!. Apparently they keep shafts in stock!



It did seem to be smoother on the way home but this could be phycological

When I bought my GSA I was taken into a small warehouse and it a a long rack of shelves

Completely full of drive shafts...must have easily been a couple of hundred if not more, some looked old some looked new (no boxes)

Had my GS serviced and they did replace the shaft drive, was well greased by me on purchasing, definitely smoother after replacement.
