Before BMW, i knew only of normal alum? keys and sockets and screwdrivers.

Can anyone advise me on which tools to buy, are they torx, or something like that, as i dont really want to use the toolkit ones for taking wheels off, and/or just fiddling about.

I am looking for a reasonable quality torx set as well as a torque wrench.

Are all torque wrenches accurate? do i not have to buy a 'named brand' ?

Can someone suggest a good make/shop/website. My budget for such items, plus anything else you might think i need, is around 80-100 quid.

I own a socket set, so i assume you can get torx 'sockets'.

Thanks all

Halfords have thier proffessional set on offer £99

includes all the spanners 1/4,3/8, a1/2'' drive sockets plus torx etc

all you will need on most bikes

I bought a set reccently as it was cheaper than adding stuff individually to my own set, they are good quality and well upto the task of bike work.

This is what I bought, good quality (Draper expert) and cheap from this website. It's a torx and hex set that you can use with your socket set. Justoffbase tools

Sorry - neither of the two Halfords branches in my neck of the woods did it for me. They could not supply the larger sizes needed for the 12GS...

As you are only down the road in Bagshot, a gentle trip to either Wokingham Tools (actually in Reading, on the Wokingham Road, about 1/2 a mile from Cemetery Junction), or alternatively (though the name of the shop escapes me) the place at Knowl Hill on the A4 just west of Maidenhead.

The former, I can tell you are excellent. The latter was recommended to me, but I haven't used them personally.

I went with Sealey, rather than Draper.
